Wi-Fi access for visitors
To protect the KU Leuven Wi-Fi networks against the many dangers of unwanted intruders, registration of users is mandatory. KU Leuven students and staff members can easily use their own username, and visitors can go through a self-registration process, or use the "iotd" network after a KU Leuven staff member grants access.
At the KU Leuven (campus Leuven, Antwerpen, Brugge and Kortrijk) 3 Wi-Fi networks are broadcasted: campusroam, eduroam and iotd. Students and staff get the best experience using campusroam. Researchers and students from other institutions can log in to eduroam.
A visitor who does not have an eduroam username can either access the campusroam network (after an IT administrator has granted the right to do so), or they can use the iotd network.
To give a visitor quick and easy access to the iotd network, there is an application that allows KU Leuven staff members to create and share a password for the iotd network (via a QR code). That password remains valid for at least the entire day.
That way, as a host, you will now have your wifi accounts ready for your visitors when they arrive and they will be online before the meeting even starts!
